Royal Challengers Bengaluru IPL Records and Stats against Kolkata Knight Riders

M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru is set to be noisy and exciting for one of the most eagerly awaited clashes of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The big game on Friday will witness the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) take on the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). 

Royal Challengers Bengaluru began their season with a loss away from home against Chennai Super Kings. In their very first home game of the season, RCB beat Punjab Kings in a close encounter thanks to the brilliance of Dinesh Karthik.

Skipper Faf Du Plessis will be vary about the threat that the seasoned KKR team possesses with the bat and ball. Bengaluru though will be delighted with the form of Virat Kohli who top-scored with 77 runs in the previous game.

Virat Kohli has hit one century and 5 half-centuries with an average of 35.8 and a strike rate of 130. His best of 100 came during the IPL 2019 game between the two sides in Kolkata.

Nathan Coulter Nile, Chris Woakes, and Colin De Grandhomme picked 3 wickets each while Umesh Yadav scalped one.

Lowest Score in IPL history

The 49 runs scored by Royal Challengers Bengaluru is the lowest-ever total in the history of IPL. It was also remarkable as none of the RCB batters managed to reach double figures with AB De Villiers top-scoring with 8 runs.

Joint 2nd for the narrowest loss suffered in IPL history

The IPL 2014 game between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders in Sharjah went down to the wire. RCB lost the game by a mere 2 runs to record one of the narrowest margins of losses in IPL history. The 2-run loss also means that RCB shares the 2nd spot with 9 other sides for a loss by such a low margin.

8th worst bowling figures in IPL history

New Zealand seamer Tim Southee bowled 4 overs and gave away 61 runs during the IPL 2019 match against KKR. This is the joint 8th worst bowling figures in the history of the league.
