Left-arm pacer Richard Ngarava has returned from injury to join Zimbabwe’s T20I squad for the upcoming home tri-series against South Africa and New Zealand.

The 16-member squad also features three uncapped players in the T20I format – wicketkeeper-batter Tafadzwa Tsiga, left-arm spinner Newman Nyamhuri, and leg-spinner Vincent Masekesa. While Tsiga and Masekesa have represented Zimbabwe in Tests, 19-year-old Nyamhuri has already played three Tests and four ODIs.

The tri-series is scheduled to be held at the Harare Sports Club from July 14 to 26. Each team will play the others twice in the group stage, with the top two sides progressing to the final.

Ngarava returns after recovering from a lower-back injury that had sidelined him from recent fixtures. His last appearance came during the one-off Test against England in May. The all-rounder Brian Bennett has also been cleared to play after recovering from a concussion sustained during the recent Test series against South Africa.

Zimbabwe will open their campaign against South Africa on July 14, followed by matches against New Zealand on July 18, South Africa again on July 20, and New Zealand again on July 24.
