Reports: Salt returns for IPL final (Source: IPL/X)

The IPL 2025 final is just hours away, and there is a lot of hype around the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), who have reached their fourth IPL final this season. However, there was also some nervousness regarding RCB star opener Phil Salt’s availability for the big match.

Recent reports suggest that the 28-year-old opener has returned to the RCB camp this morning in Ahmedabad. This is good news for the Men in Red since Salt is one of their top performers of the season. He even scored an unbeaten half-century against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) during the first Qualifier.

Notably, Salt had gone back to England to be with his partner, Abe Salt, for the birth of their first child. Earlier reports suggested that Salt might not be available for the final match, which would be a big blow to the franchise.

The reports of Salt’s availability in the final started circulating today as a fan posted a picture of Salt with his brother-in-law at the Ahmedabad airport. The fan in the post claimed that Salt had landed at the airport around 3:00 am and that the IPL 2024 winner will play in the final match.

“Confirmed with brother-in-law: Phil Salt landed at the airport in Ahmedabad last night around 3 AM. He is playing the IPL!” the post read.

Phil Salt’s IPL 2025 stats

Speaking of Salt’s performance in the current tournament, he has played 12 matches in which he has scored 387 runs at an average of 35.18 and a strike rate of 175.90. He has scored four half-centuries, with his highest score coming against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Jaipur, where he scored 65 off 33 deliveries in the match. All his 50+ scores have come in wins as well.
