Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fans as well as fans of other Indian Premier League (IPL) teams trolled Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) after the Faf du Plessis-led side crashed out of the 17th edition of the tournament on Wednesday, May 22.

RCB’s turbulent IPL 2024 campaign ended on a disappointing note, as they suffered a four-wicket defeat at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad against the Rajasthan Royals. Batting first, RCB were restricted to 172/8 in their 20 overs before Rajasthan chased it down with an over to spare. Ravichandran Ashwin was adjudged Player of the Match after finishing with excellent figures of 2/19 in his four overs. Meanwhile, Yashasvi Jaiswal top-scored with a 30-ball 45 to set up the run-chase.

This ended Bengaluru’s six-match winning streak, which had helped them make a commendable comeback in the season after they encountered losses in seven out of the first eight games.

After the defeat, RCB posted a team photo on social media and thanked the players for their contributions and fans for their support throughout the season.

“Remember, they wrote us off. Remember, they said we were finished. Remember, we had less than 1% chance. Remember, when nobody else believed in you, our 12th Man Army did. Remember, you kept your heads and our hopes up. Remember, you turned that 1%  into 100%. Remember, we love you. Thank you for all the memories. This team!” RCB wrote in the caption of their tweet on ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter).

You deserve to talk turning 1% into 100% only if you win the title. Quality team will perform in knockouts. RCB will never win the title until you change behaving unpleasantly proud and behaving as if you are more important than others. #ipl
