The Ranji Trophy 2026-27 has produced some outstanding bowling performances through its opening two phases, with spinners dominating the wicket-takers chart. Three left-arm spinners in particular have set the pace, each delivering match-winning spells across the country.

After Phase 1, the gap between the top three and the rest of the field is notable. Vidarbha, Uttar Pradesh and Saurashtra have each benefited from a spinner in exceptional form, making the bowling charts one of the most compelling storylines of the season so far.

Here are the top three wicket-takers after Phase 1 from Ranji Trophy 2026-27:

1. Harsh Dubey (Vidarbha)

Harsh Dubey of Vidarbha sits at the top of the Ranji Trophy 2026-27 wicket-takers list with 28 wickets from just 8 innings at a remarkable average of 11.64. His best figures of the season, 9/53, came against Madhya Pradesh at VCA Stadium, Jamtha, Nagpur, where he bowled Vidarbha to a dominant innings-and-20-run victory. He followed that spell with 5/37 in the second innings of the same match, completing a 14-wicket match haul.

The 9/53 is also the best bowling return by any Vidarbha bowler in Ranji Trophy history. Dubey, who plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, was the standout performer in the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy as well, finishing that season with 69 wickets at an average of 16.98 and a strike rate of 38.17, including 7 five-wicket hauls, which set a new all-time record for most wickets in a single Ranji Trophy season. He was named Player of the Series that year as Vidarbha claimed their third title, beating Kerala in the final.

2. Kartik Yadav (Uttar Pradesh)

Kartik Yadav of Uttar Pradesh is second on the list with 27 wickets from 4 matches across 8 innings, bowling at an average of 13.96. The left-arm spinner’s best figures of the season are 6/42, which he recorded against Puducherry.

Yadav has accumulated his wickets at a rapid rate, having already reached 22 wickets after just three rounds before adding to his tally in the fourth. His consistent performances have made him one of the most talked-about young spinners in the domestic circuit this season.

3. Parth Bhut (Saurashtra)

Parth Bhut of Saurashtra rounds out the top three with 26 wickets from 3 matches across 6 innings, averaging 14.00. His best figures of the season are 8/17, taken in the second innings against Assam in Rajkot, a spell that pushed his season tally to 26 wickets.

The left-arm spinner has been highly economical and penetrative across his three matches, making Saurashtra a difficult side to bat against on home soil.
