Jammu & Kashmir captain Paras Dogra feels the team is capable of winning the 2025/26 Ranji Trophy title. J&K recently defeated Delhi at the Arun Jaitley Stadium by seven wickets on the final day’s play.

Dogra, who shifted to representing the state in the previous season itself, said that defeating the likes of Delhi in their own backyard was a statement victory. He also provided insights on how the mood of the dressing room is and what the captain and the management have informed the group as for playing their natural game.

“We reached the quarters last year. So, the team was in good spirits. There is confidence that we can win the Ranji Trophy. This is another good match reinforcing that belief. To beat Delhi in Delhi is a good achievement. It tells us that we can beat anyone anywhere,” stated Dogra, as quoted by The Hindu.

“I’m enjoying myself as a part of this outfit. Here, it feels so good that we are doing well. It is a very positive dressing room. We are backing everyone. This is a group of 20-25 boys. We are telling them to play their game,” he added.

The seven-wicket triumph which J&K attained on November 11 was their first-ever win against Delhi in the Ranji Trophy in the history of India’s premier red-ball tournament. Auqib Nabi emerged as the Player of the Match on the back of his match haul of five wickets (5/35 in 16 overs and 0/43 in 12 overs) against the seven-time champions.

Dogra also had a vital role to play in his team’s victory. He scored 106 off 183 in J&K’s first innings in a knock which comprised 11 fours and one six. He was one of the unbeaten batters during the run-chase, ending with 10 off 12 with a couple of boundaries to his name. Dogra’s unit will take on Hyderabad in their next match at the Hostel Ground, JKCA in Jammu, for the fifth round game, starting November 16.
