Yasir Khan and Ubaid Shah were two standout performers for Multan Sultans (MUL) on Tuesday, April 22, as they defeated Lahore Qalandars (LAH) by 33 runs at the Multan Cricket Ground in match No. 12 of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025.

Mohammad Rizwan won the toss on Tuesday and opted to bat first. The experienced wicketkeeper-batter gave his team a brisk start, scoring a 17-ball 32. Usman Khan walked out to bat at No. 3 and scored 39 off 24 balls. However, Yasir Khan was the star of the show for Multan as he slammed 87 runs off just 44 balls with the help of six fours and as many sixes.

Iftikhar Ahmed played a fine hand, scoring an unbeaten 40 off 18 balls as Multan finished on 228/5 in their 20 overs. Asif Afridi bowled well, picking up one wicket and conceding just 26 runs in his four overs. Meanwhile, Rishad Hossain bagged a couple of wickets but went for 45 runs in his four overs.

In reply, Fakhar Zaman gave Lahore an excellent start thanks to his 14-ball 32 at the top of the order. However, Mohammad Naeem, Abdullah Shafique, and Daryl Mitchell failed to convert their starts into substantial scores. Sam Billings played a fine hand as his 23-ball 43 kept Lahore in the hunt.

At the back end of the innings, Sikandar Raza slammed an unbeaten 50 off 27 balls to reduce the margin of defeat for the Qalandars. The Shaheen Afridi-led side was restricted to 195/9 in their 20 overs. Ubaid Shah had an excellent outing with the ball, picking up a three-for. Michael Bracewell and Usama Mir scalped two wickets apiece.

Yasir Khan was named Player of the Match for his exhilarating knock in the first innings. Multan Sultans finally opened their account with this win as they ended a three-match losing streak in PSL 2025. However, they are still placed at the bottom of the points table. Meanwhile, Lahore now have two wins and as many defeats after playing four games.
