The Punjab Kings (PBKS) take on the Lucknow Super Giants in Match 29 of the 2026 Indian Premier League at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur.

Punjab Kings are the only unbeaten team in IPL 2026. They beat Mumbai Indians convincingly by seven wickets at the Wankhede Stadium in their last game, performing brilliantly with bat and ball. They have looked settled in both the batting and bowling units, and will look to extend their dominant run in the tournament.

Lucknow Super Giants are coming on the back of a five-wicket loss to Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Having lost two games on the bounce, they will be looking to return to winning ways. However, they face the daunting test from one of the league’s in-form teams at their home ground. Their top-heavy approach has yet to yield results, and their big name openers have not made a mark in the 2026 season.

This clash promises to be a blockbuster encounter, with the amount of star power in both teams.

Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium Pitch Report

The pitch at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium is one of the better batting surfaces in the country. The black soil wicket offers consistent bounce, with the ball coming onto the bat very comfortably. The outfield is rapid but the boundaries are comparatively larger. Bowlers get early lateral movement but it becomes easier to bat as the innings progresses. The last game on this ground saw the Punjab Kings chase down 220 with ease.

PBKS vs SRH Strategies and Match-ups

The Punjab Kings have found their balance in all departments. The opening pair of Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya has provided blistering starts but have left enough on the table for Shreyas Iyer to prove his mettle, as he has slammed three consecutive 50-plus scores. The bowling has been at his best, and with Arshdeep Singh bowling a marvelous new-ball spell against the Mumbai Indians, all eyes will be on him as the leader of the attack.

The top-order failures mean that Lucknow Super Giants have not been able to get their campaign going, with runs having to come from unlikely sources. Mukul Choudhary has emerged as a saviour, scoring a half-century in the win against the Kolkata Knight Riders. Nicholas Pooran has been in a rut, scoring just 42 runs in five games.
