Abhishek Sharma has spilt the beans on his childhood friend and fellow India teammate Shubman Gill being a rich kid from early days. While other teenagers during the age-group cricket days rarely carried a phone, Gill used to carry an iPhone, which is also among the costliest phone brands across the world, Abhishek has said.
During the recent Naman Awards event organised by the BCCI in New Delhi on Sunday, March 15, Harsha Bhogle asked Abhishek a number of questions, but one thing that the famous commentator wanted to know was what brand phone was the cricketer’s first.
“Abhishek, what was your first phone?” Bhogle asked the cricketer.
“It was a Samsung phone. But I still remember during the Under-12 or Under-14 Days, the only guy in our group who had an iPhone was Shubman Gill,” Abhishek replied.
Notably, the cricketing bond of Abhishek and Shubman goes back to their Under-12 days, since the duo has been playing for the same academy since the start. Both of them started playing in the Punjab domestic circles throughout their younger days, and later, both went on to become dependable batters for the Indian team as well. Both are opening batters and play the role for their respective IPL teams as well.
