Kusal Perera was the top scorer for Sri Lanka, making 78 runs, while Pathum Nissanka also had a significant contribution with 61 runs. The match ended with Sri Lanka being bowled out for 209 runs in 43.3 overs. Australia’s bowlers and fielding performance were crucial in turning the game in their favour.

Chasing the target, Australia lost two early wickets but Mitchell Marsh and Marnus Labuschagne stabilised the innings with a partnership. They both scored half-centuries, with Marsh making 52 and Labuschagne contributing 40. Later, Josh Inglis played a crucial knock of 58 runs, and Glenn Maxwell finished off the game quickly with a quickfire 31. Australia won the match by five wickets and opened their account on the points table.
