Australia’s charismatic all-rounder Glenn Maxwell played one of the best knocks in the history of one-day cricket during his side’s clash against Afghanistan in the ongoing ODI World Cup in Mumbai. With Australia chasing a reasonable target of 292, he hit a double century and snatched the victory from the hands of Afghanistan.
When Australia were reeling at 91/7, Maxwell and captain Pat Cummins put in a sensational display and secured a much-needed win with three wickets, and also advanced to the semifinal of this competition. The all-rounder hit an unbeaten 201 off just 128 deliveries with the help of 21 boundaries and 10 maximums.
Maxwell’s innings was especially noteworthy since throughout the final ten overs of the game, he was hardly able to move his feet due to cramps in both legs. The Australian played some incredible shots to lead Australia to a historic victory with constrained footwork due to cramps.
Meanhwile, Pakistan spinner Shadab Khan was seen attempting to recreate Maxwell’s strokes in the nets ahead of the Men in Green’s final group-stage game against England. Shadab’s shots, though, produced some humorous outcomes.
