My personal wish is Rinku Singh makes it to the T20 World Cup squad: Shah Rukh Khan

Star Kolkata Knight Riders batter Rinku Singh’s rise to the top has been inspirational. Ever since his legendary knock against Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2023, Rinku has become a star player for KKR, even getting to feature for the Indian team in white-ball cricket.

It is worth noting that Rinku Singh has played 15 T20Is for India so far, where he has managed to amass 356 runs to his name, maintaining a staggering average of 89.00 and an astonishing strike rate of 176.23.

With 123 runs in nine games so far in the IPL 2024, Rinku’s name has often been discussed for the Indian team’s squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. Talking about the same, Kolkata Knight Riders’ co-owner and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan recently came forward to express his wish about seeing the star batter  play for India in the World Cup.

“Such amazing players are playing for the country. I am really looking forward to Rinku, Inshallah being in the World Cup Squad and some other youngsters from other teams also. Some of them deserve it so much, but my personal wish is that Rinku makes it to the team. I will be so happy. That will be the high point for me,” SRK told Star Sports.

“I just want them to feel happy and when I see these boys playing, I feel like I am living as a sportsperson myself. Especially players like Rinku and Nitish (Rana), I see myself in them. I feel really happy when they perform well,” he added.

KKR breeze past DC as Playoffs’ race intensifies

Speaking of KKR, the side recently got back to winning ways after they breezed past Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals in the 47th game of the IPL 2024 on Monday, April 29.

Playing at the Eden Gardens, Delhi Capitals were restricted by Kolkata to a subpar total of 153 runs, which was easily chased down by the hosts in 16.3 overs, as the two-time champions won the game by seven wickets.
