Ahead of his return to the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni has hit the nets to prepare for the upcoming season of the tournament. Having retired from international cricket in August 2020, Dhoni remains active only in the IPL.

Recently, a picture of Dhoni practicing in the nets has gone viral. In the picture of him practicing in the nets, Dhoni was seen donning the sticker of “Prime Sports” on his bat.

It is worth noting that Prime Sports is a shop in Ranchi owned by Dhoni’s friend Paramjit Singh. Paramjit had a big role in shaping Dhoni’s career, and he even helped Dhoni in getting his first bat sponsor.

He does not tell us what he is going to do: Kasi Viswanathan

MS Dhoni’s inclusion in the Indian Premier League has been much discussed. After leading the side to a title victory in 2023, Dhoni helped Chennai Super Kings become the joint-most successful side in IPL history with five IPL titles alongside Mumbai Indians.

After his title win, Dhoni promised the fans that he would feature in yet another season of the IPL, and talking of the same, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan opined that only Dhoni knows if it is going to be his last edition.

“That I do not know. See, as far as the captain is concerned, he will answer you directly. He does not tell us what he is going to do,” Viswanathan was quoted as saying by NDTV.

Furthermore, the CEO also talked of Dhoni’s recent knee surgery that he underwent in June 2023 after the 16th edition of the IPL. Currently, Dhoni is undergoing rehab and should be back in action soon.

“He is doing well now. He has started his rehab. He started working in the gym. And, probably in another 10 days he’ll start working in the nets also,” Viswanathan recently said.
