‘Maybe England do the same’ – Jos Buttler’s epic reaction to PCB’s LinkedIn fielding coach post

“The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is seeking an experienced and skilled Fielding Coach to join the Pakistan Men’s National Cricket Team. The Fielding Coach will play a crucial role in developing and enhancing the fielding skills of Pakistan National Team Players,” PCB said.

Buttler’s take on Pakistan’s LinkedIn recruitment strategy

The comments came after the PCB’s decision to advertise the fielding coach vacancy on LinkedIn following Shane McDermott’s departure. The move attracted plenty of attention, with Pakistan’s recruitment approach becoming a talking point in the aftermath of their difficult Test series against England. Reacting to the unusual recruitment method, Jos Buttler gave away his reaction.

“I was trying to defend it. Pakistan have gone to a very traditional and modern tactic in recruitment of their new fielding coach and have placed an advert on LinkedIn,” Buttler said on For the Love of Cricket podcast with Stuart Broad.

“All teams have to advertise jobs in this day and age, so maybe England do the same. I don’t know,” he further added.

The third Test, scheduled to begin at Edgbaston on September 9, will be Pakistan’s final opportunity to salvage some pride from the series. With England already holding an unassailable 2-0 lead, Pakistan will enter the match under immense pressure following a major mid-series overhaul of their squad and coaching staff.
