In a historic moment for Indian sports, Neeraj Chopra secured India’s first-ever gold medal at the World Athletics Championships. The great Indian cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar commended Neeraj’s great achievement, praising his hard work and dedication.

Chopra’s remarkable performance came in the men’s javelin throw event, where he recorded a best throw of 88.17 meters in his second attempt. This impressive throw allowed him to maintain his lead throughout the competition, securing the gold medal for India.

Arshad Nadeem, the Commonwealth Games champion with a throw of 87.82 meters, claimed the silver medal. Meanwhile, Jakub Vadlejch from the Czech Republic secured the bronze with a best throw of 86.67 meters.

Sachin Tendulkar took to the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) to express his admiration for Neeraj’s achievement. He wrote,

Several cricketers lauded Neeraj Chopra’s gold medal feat at World Athletics Championship

This victory marks a significant moment for Indian athletics and showcases the country’s growing prowess in international athletics competitions. Neeraj‘s dedication and exceptional performance have not only brought glory to himself but also to the entire nation.

Chopra will be looking to replicate the same performance in the upcoming Asian Games and win a Gold for India, which is set to be held from September 23 to October 8. Asian Games will be the final major competition for Neeraj this year.

A few other Indian cricket stars like Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Harbhajan Singh, and Yuzi Chahal also appreciated the brilliant performance of Neeraj and congratulated him on X.
