Madame Tussauds Singapore unveils wax figure of Virat Kohli

Madame Tussauds Singapore, a wax museum, unveiled a wax figure of veteran India cricketer Virat Kohli, amid the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup. Kohli, who made his international debut in 2008, is considered one of the best cricketers India has ever produced. The former Indian captain is known for his incomparable batting skills and proficient leadership skills.

Kohli’s wax figure was seen donning an official cricket kit of Team India donated by the cricketer himself. The figure is placed in the Sports Zone, where legends like Cristiano Ronaldo, Yao Ming, and Sachin Tendulkar’s statues were also seen.

Steven Chung, General Manager at Madame Tussauds Singapore, stated that they are proud to add Kohli’s wax statue. 

“We are proud to add Virat Kohli’s figure to our line-up of sporting icons. His unwavering commitment to excellence, coupled with his charismatic personality has earned him a special place in the hearts of millions. Kohli fans around the world can now come to Madame Tussauds Singapore to connect with their hero on a whole new level and feel his aura!” Chung was quoted as saying by Asia One.

Kohli expressed his gratitude to the wax museum for choosing him for a lifelong experience. The unique statue which was formulated by a team of talented artists, will provide everyone with a memorable opportunity to get up close with India’s sports icon. 

“I sincerely appreciate the efforts and incredible work undergone in making my figure. Thanks to Madame Tussauds for choosing me for this lifetime experience. I am grateful to my fans for their love and support,” said the cricketer.

Meanwhile, Mahmood Gaznavi, the Singapore Cricket Association’s President, stated that they are very pleased to have a legendary cricketer’s figure in Singapore.

“We are thrilled to be part of a modern-day great having his launch in Singapore. Virat Kohli is a symbol of strength, character and skill all rolled into one,” said Gaznavi.
