In a landmark development for global cricket and the sports business ecosystem, Blue God Entertainment Ltd has acquired the long-term licensing rights of Legends League Cricket (LLC) from Absolute Legends Sports Pvt Ltd in a INR 49 crore transaction.
The deal positions Legends League Cricket as the first cricket league intellectual property globally to be represented through a publicly listed Indian entity, marking a major milestone in the integration of professional sport and capital markets.
Under the agreement, Blue God Entertainment secures long-term commercial rights across media and broadcast monetisation, sponsorships, franchise development, and global content distribution, creating a new framework for institutional ownership and public market participation in cricket league economics.
Vivek Khushalani, chairman of Absolute Legends Sports, said the partnership brings institutional capital and long-term growth visibility for the league while enabling ALSPL to focus on expansion and innovation.
Raman Raheja, Co-Founder of Legends League Cricket, described the transaction as a defining moment for the sports business, creating a new model for valuation and monetisation of sports intellectual property.
The transaction signals a structural shift in cricket economics, positioning sports league IP as an emerging investable asset class.
Notably, the league had partnered with Katalyst Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. as a strategic partner back in July 2025 to bolster its development ahead of the upcoming 2026 season.
“This is just the beginning. Sports is the next big frontier of entertainment, and with Katalyst Sports, we are bringing our creative energy and executional expertise into the domain with purpose,” Nitin Arora, Founder, Katalyst Entertainment Pvt Ltd. had said at the time.
Speaking more of LLC, the 20-over league has fast established itself as one of the major events for cricketers who have taken international retirement. In fact, a lot of out-of-favour cricketers take voluntary international retirement and see their careers have an extension beyond that age. Its first season was played in 2022, and the league has only grown ever since.
