Kuldeep Yadav has now become a champion bowler: Sanjay Manjrekar

Sanjay Manjrekar praised Kuldeep Yadav for his performance against Gujarat Titans. The former Indian cricketer felt that Kuldeep is arguably at the peak of his career and added that the chinaman spinner is bowling like Yuzvendra Chahal and Jasprit Bumrah did during their peak.

Sanjay Manjrekar felt that the star bowler’s confidence was at its all-time high and hoped he would perform well for India. He added that Yadav seems to be enjoying the responsibility of being the strike bowler for DC and claimed that the champion bowler delivers the wickets in crucial junctures of the game.

“Yes. And this is perhaps Kuldeep Yadav at his peak with regards to his skills, his confidence. You can see now he’s out there like a Bumrah or Chahal at his peak. He is commanding that kind of respect,” said Manjrekar while speaking with the broadcasters.

“He looks comfortable with the responsibility and champions, you know, those breaks and those moments that you are seeking at the right time,” he added.

Kuldeep bowled an exceptional spell in the game against DC. Defending 225, GT was in a good position in the run chase. The knock from Sai Sudarshan and David Miller put them in a good position in the match. On a flat wicket, DC needed someone to step up with the ball. Kuldeep bowled an exceptional spell where he claimed two important wickets and conceded just 29 runs in his spell of four overs.

Manjrekar spoke about the spell of the 29-year-old against GT. The former Indian batter felt that DC needed a wicket when Rahul Tewatia and David Miller were in the middle. He believed that Kuldeep dismissing Tewatia was like a final nail in the coffin for GT’s run chase.

“Last over today, DC wanted a wicket. They got the wicket of Tewatia there and just seized the game,” felt Manjrekar.

Manjrekar said that Kuldeep’s ability to pick important wickets has made him a champion bowler. Manjrekar felt that Kuldeep must be the second spinner in India’s T20 WC 2024 lineup with Ravindra Jadeja being the all-rounder.

“So this is where Kuldeep has now become a champion bowler and he is somebody I mean that we should pencil down. Ravindra Jadeja will come in as a left-arm spinner batter and Kuldeep the second spinner,” added Manjrekar in his statement.
