Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT) will square off one final time in the IPL 2023 summit clash on Sunday, May 28 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Apart from the glitz, glamour and razzmatazz that the league holds, it is also known hand cash rewards for the franchises making it to the finals.

It is worth mentioning that the winner between the CSK and GT in Sunday’s blockbuster final will earn a humongous INR 20 crore while the runners up will bag INR 13 crore. However, in the first two seasons, the winning team bagged INR 4.8 crore whereas the runners up collected INR 2.4 crore.

However, with the success of the lucrative T20 league over the years, the BCCI decided to increase the prize money from the 2010 season. While the winners obtained a massive prize money of INR 10 crore, the runners up received INR 5 crore from the 2010-2013 season.

Since 2016, the prize money saw a sharp rise as the winners got a mammoth INR 20 crore while the second-placed team would obtain INR 11 crore. It is worth mentioning that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the apex cricket board decided to lower down the cash rewards.

In the 2020 season, the prize money was brought down to INR 10 crore for the title-holders whereas runners up got INR 6.25 crore. In the ongoing season, apart from the winners, BCCI will also reward the third and fourth placed teams with prize money of INR 7 crore and 6.5 crore, respectively.

Speaking about the Orange and Purple Cap holders, the batter with the most runs will obtain INR 15 lakhs as cash prize whereas the bowler with most scalps too will obtain the same reward. In addition to this, the ‘Emerging Player’, ‘Most Valuable Player’, ‘Power Player of the Season’, ‘Super Striker of the Season’, and ‘Game Changer of the Season’ will receive INR 12 lakh to INR 20 lakh as prize money.
