The Royal Challengers Bengaluru got to a mammoth 250/3 at the end of their innings, after being put into bat by the Chennai Super Kings at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
While Rajat Patidar scored an unbeaten 19-ball 48, Devdutt Padikkal got his second consecutive half-century, and Phil Salt got to 46, the star of the show was Tim David, who scored a blistering unbeaten 70 off just 25 balls. Coming into bat in the 15th over, David decimated the Chennai bowlers and left them scrambling in a brutal display of hitting.
He hit eight huge sixes in his innings, with the most noteworthy one coming off Jamie Overton’s bowling in the final ball of the 19th over. Having already taken 24 runs off the over with three sixes, David pulled a short ball, which flew a massive 106 metres over mid-wicket and landed on the roof of the Chinnaswamy Stadium. The big-hitting Aussie took 30 runs off the over, hitting four sixes, with three of them coming in the final three balls.
