Royal Challengers Bengaluru made a brilliant start with the ball in the Qualifier 1 clash against Gujarat Titans on May 26 at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala, but the biggest turning point early in the innings came through an unfortunate dismissal of Sai Sudharsan.
Jacob Duffy, bowling the third over of the innings, delivered a short-of-a-good-length ball angling across the left-handed batter. Sudharsan stayed back and attempted a fierce cut shot past point. However, in a bizarre moment, his bat slipped out of his hands immediately after making contact with the ball. As the batter looked to complete a quick run, the bat bounced behind him and crashed onto the stumps, dislodging the bails.
Sudharsan was initially unaware of what had happened and only turned back after noticing the stumps disturbed. The unlucky dismissal handed RCB a massive breakthrough, one they would gladly accept in such a high-pressure encounter.
HOW UNFORTUNATE! 🤯
Probably the only way to end Sai Sudharsan’s streak of five 50-plus scores 🫣
