The Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bat first against the Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Match 44 of the 2026 Indian Premier League.
A key moment of the match came early when Anshul Kamboj dismissed Will Jacks in the second over of the game, courtesy of a stunning catch from debutant Ramakrishna Ghosh at deep backward point. Jacks tried to slog a fuller delivery from outside off-stump across the line but was just able to manage a leading edge.
The edge flew to backward point, where Ghosh, stationed on the boundary rope had to complete the catch with a splendid forward dive. This was a big moment in the game as Jacks had got MI off to a flyer in their last game, scoring a 22-ball 46 against the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the top of the order.

The all-rounder then followed up his splendid catch with his maiden wicket as he dismissed India’s T20 skipper Suryakumar Yadav, who tried to hit a ball over the off-side but found Dewald Brevis at deep point, resulting in the fall of the third wicket for the visiting side.
