IPL 2026: Video of the Day: Priyansh Arya gets two lifelines, but Jofra Archer enjoys last laugh

Third time proved decisive for Jofra Archer, who eventually dismissed the dangerous Priyansh Arya after creating multiple chances in the same over during the game between Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings in Match 40 of IPL 2026 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh on Tuesday, April 28.

Arya had earlier survived an edge and a dropped opportunity, continuing his aggressive approach in the powerplay. The left-hander raced to 29 off just 11 balls, striking five fours and a six, and briefly shifting the momentum in his side’s favour.

However, Archer stayed persistent. Bowling at over 150 kph, he adjusted his length slightly fuller, tempting Arya into another big shot. This time, the batter failed to connect cleanly, with the bat turning on impact. The mistimed loft was safely taken at mid-off by Nandre Burger, ending a brief but impactful innings.

Despite being attacked early, the English pacer stuck to his plans and trusted his execution. After two missed chances, Archer had the last laugh against Arya – getting rewarded for persistence and control in this blockbuster powerplay spell.
