On their given day, the Gujarat Titans (GT) can win a game on the back of their batting, regardless of the target in front of them. The Ahmedabad-based side have some of the best T20 batters in their ranks, which helped them secure third place in the previous IPL season. GT is another side in the 2026 edition that will rely heavily on its top order to come good if the team wants to go deep into the tournament.

The 2022 champions once again have a good mixture of international and Indian batters in their squad to balance things out. Though some of their batters might not be in the best of form coming into the tournament, there is no denying that the Shubman Gill-led side possesses enough pedigree to be serious match-winners.

Here are 3 Gujarat Titans batters to watch out for IPL 2026:

3. Sai Sudharsan

Sai Sudharsan was the best batter in the 2025 season, as he won the Orange Cap for the first time in his career. He scored 759 runs at an average of 54.21 whilst striking at 157, registering a century along the way. The left-handed batter has been a consistent run-getter for GT ever since his debut for the franchise in 2022. A similar season to the last can take his side close to their second IPL title.

Sudharsan’s form heading to the 2026 IPL is also promising as far as GT fans are concerned. In his last T20 game, playing for Tamil Nadu against Saurashtra, the 24-year-old scored an unbeaten 101 off just 55 deliveries whilst opening the batting. He has since then played two List A games, scoring a total of 99 runs along the way.

2. Jos Buttler

Jos Buttler’s form in the recently concluded T20 World Cup was poor. The England star, however, remains one of the best overseas batters to have graced the IPL. The 35-year-old barely has an IPL season where he has failed to contribute with the bat.

Buttler represented GT for the first time in 2025 after he was not retained by the Rajasthan Royals ahead of the 2025 mega auction. The wicketkeeper-batter scored 538 runs for his new side at an average of nearly 60.

Buttler had to adapt to a new role whilst playing for GT. Unlike for RR or for England, the Lancashire batter came in to bat at number three, allowing Sudharsan to open along with Gill. This role suited him well since it allowed him to come in and settle instead of trying to score big from the first ball that he faced.

1. Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill will be captaining GT for a third season this time around after taking over the captaincy from Hardik Pandya, who joined the Mumbai Indians ahead of the 2024 season. In his two seasons as GT captain, Gill has gone on to score 1,076 runs, including 650 runs in 2025 at an average of exactly 50. He scored six half-centuries in the last campaign, the most he has managed in a single IPL season.

Gill will have a lot to prove during the course of the 2026 IPL. The right-handed batter lost his place in India’s T20I setup just a few months before the start of the T20 World Cup on home soil, with the management preferring Ishan Kishan instead. A good IPL season could very well see Gill make a comeback in the shortest form of international cricket.
