IPL 2026: RR vs MI Match 13 – Who will be Impact Players for today’s match?

Rajasthan Royals (RR) will lock horns against the Mumbai Indians (MI) in Match 13 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Tuesday, April 7. 

RR come into the game on the back of two wins from two matches to kickstart their 2026 campaign. The 2008 champions first beat Chennai Super Kings in Guwahati before registering a narrow six-run victory over the Gujarat Titans (GT) in Ahmedabad. 

MI, on the other hand, had a small blip in their season when they lost to the Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in their most recent game. They have one win under their belt, though, beating the Kolkata Knight Riders on home soil. 

Both RR and MI have a very strong squad at their disposal, making them two of the closest sides on paper. In such close encounters, the eventual winner can be determined by which side uses its one Impact Player in the most optimal manner.

Ravi Bishnoi: Ravi Bishnoi is RR’s designated Impact Player when they are defending a total. The spinner has been very effective this season, taking five wickets from two matches to be the joint-highest wicket-taker. 

Lhuan-dre Pretorius: Yet another hard-hitting option, RR can opt to bring Lhuan-dre Pretorius off the bench should they lose early wickets in their innings. 

Sushant Mishra: A seam bowler, Sushant Mishra could be the wildcard Impact Sub for RR. He was the joint-highest wicket-taker in the Syed Musthaq Ali Trophy with 22 scalps to his name.

Shubham Dubey: Shubham Dubey played nine times for RR last season and is a handy lower-order batter. His IPL strike-rate is 163.52 and could offer some quick-fire runs towards the backend of the innings.

Ravi Singh: Yet another attacking option with the bat, Ravi Singh was the Railways’ top-scorer at the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy with 218 runs at a strike-rate of 173.01.

Deepak Chahar: Deepak Chahar was excellent with the new ball against Delhi Capitals, taking the important wicket of KL Rahul. If the conditions favour fast bowling, expect him to be brought in as an Impact Player. 

Mayank Markande: If MI need an extra spinner to support Mitchell Santner, they have Mayank Markande at their disposal. The 28-year-old has 37 IPL wickets to his name.

Robin Minz: An attacking option with the bat, Robin Minz’s T20 strike-rate is 155.19. He played two games for MI last season. 

Ashwani Kumar: A left-arm option with the ball, Ashwani Kumar took 11 wickets for MI from seven games last year, including a four-wicket haul against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Raj Bawa: Raj Bawa is a handy all-rounder to have as a potential Impact Player. He is capable of playing anywhere in the middle order and can offer a few overs as well.

• Home Advantage: Rajasthan Royals technically call Guwahati their home venue and have shown why in their previous game against CSK. They were excellent at making the most out of tricky conditions and should hold the edge in that regard.
