The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will play their penultimate game of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) when they take on the Rajasthan Royals in Match 64 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Tuesday, May 19.
LSG have had a campaign to forget, being stuck at the foot of the standings for the majority of the season. Rishabh Pant’s side, however, have found some late-IPL form, winning two out of their last three matches, defeating Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Chennai Super Kings in the process.
The arrival of Josh Inglis in combination with Mitchell Marsh’s outstanding run of form have transformed LSG’s fortunes. A win against RR could also finally see them move up to ninth in the standings and end the season on a high to build some crucial momentum for 2027.
Here is LSG’s strongest predicted XI vs RR, Match 64, IPL 2026:
Top Order: Mitchell Marsh, Nicholas Pooran

As has been the case in recent matches, LSG are expected to open their batting with Mitchell Marsh and Josh Inglis, with the latter coming off the substitute bench. Marsh is currently his side’s leading run-scorer this season with 467 at a strike-rate of 162.15. Inglis, on the other hand, has already scored 134 runs from three innings, whilst striking at more than 190.
Nicholas Pooran’s poor form has been one of the reasons behind LSG’s position in IPL 2026. However, he has shown glimpses of his destructive self in recent matches.
Middle Order: Rishabh Pant (C & WK), Aiden Markram, Mukul Choudhary, Abdul Samad, Shahbaz Ahmed

LSG’s middle order has tried various permutations and combinations this season, but none of them has worked. Captain Rishabh Pant has scored 251 runs at an underwhelming strike-rate and average of 138.67 and 27.88, respectively. Aiden Markram also did not live up to his pre-IPL form, amassing just 231 runs all season long.
Bowlers: Mohammed Shami, Digvesh Rathi, Akash Singh, Prince Yadav

Despite all of their troubles this season, LSG’s bowling has not been one of them. Prince Yadav has been the flagbearer, picking up 16 wickets from 12 matches at an economy rate of 8.53. Mohammed Shami has 10 scalps to his name, level with Mohsin Khan.
Akash Singh played his first game of the season against CSK, and went on to take three wickets, dismissing Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson and Urvil Patel.
