Lucknow Super Giants will take on Punjab Kings in Match No. 29 of the Indian Premier League 2026 on April 19 at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium. LSG have had a mixed campaign so far. After starting with a loss, they bounced back with wins against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders. However, back-to-back defeats have dented their momentum, and they will be eager to return to winning ways. A few tweaks in the playing XI could be on the cards as they aim for a turnaround.

Here is the strongest, most probable XI for the Lucknow Super Giants for Match 29 vs PBKS:

Top Order: Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant (C & WK)

Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh are expected to open the innings, bringing intent and aggression despite inconsistent form. The LSG captain Rishabh Pant, likely returning after a minor injury scare, will slot in at No. 3 and will look to lead from the front after a quiet season so far.

Middle Order: Matthew Breetzke, Abdul Samad, Mukul Choudhary, George Linde

South African cricketer Mattthew Breetzke could replace Nicholas Pooran to add more stability. Mukul Choudhary, who impressed with a quickfire 54 against KKR, adds finishing ability. While Abdul Samad has struggled, his power-hitting remains a threat for the opposition. George Linde strengthens the side with his all-round capabilities.

Bowlers: Avesh Khan, Digvesh Singh Rathi, Prince Yadav, Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami continues to lead the attack effectively with his economical spells, while Prince Yadav has emerged as a key wicket-taker with his pace and accuracy. Avesh Khan remains reliable in the death overs tightening the grip on the opposition, and Digvesh Rathi has provided control with consistent performances with his leg-spin during the middle overs.

Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant (C & WK), Matthew Breetzke, Abdul Samad, Mukul Choudhary, Avesh Khan, Digvesh Singh Rathi, Prince Yadav, George Linde, Mohammed Shami
