The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) travel to the Wankhede Stadium to take on the Mumbai Indians (MI) in Match 47 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) in hopes of a win after going winless in their last five matches.
Rishabh Pant’s side’s most recent defeat came against the Kolkata Knight Riders in the most dramatic fashion at the Ekana International Stadium. The hosts did well to recover and take the game into a Super Over, only to score one run, which was chased down easily in the one-over face-off.
LSG’s batting has been their main source of concern. On paper, they have one of the strongest cores of overseas batters in the tournament, but they have not performed at the level expected out of them. On the bright side, the bowling department has been good despite the lack of experience playing at the highest level.
Here is LSG’s strongest predicted XI vs MI, Match 47, IPL 2026:
Top Order: Mitchell Marsh, Ayush Badoni, Rishabh Pant (C & WK)

A lot was expected out of LSG’s top order this season, but they have failed to deliver in the first eight matches of the season. Mitchell Marsh continues to remain the side’s leading run-scorer, hitting 212 runs at an average of just 26.50, whilst striking at a lowly 133.33.
Captain Rishabh Pant has tried multiple batting positions in the tournament, without much success. The left-handed batter has scored just 189 runs from eight innings at a strike-rate of 126.84.
Middle Order: Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran, Mukul Choudhary, George Linde

In a star-studded middle order, it is the uncapped Mukul Choudhary who is LSG’s best batter this season. He has scored 156 runs at a strike-rate of 145.79.
The biggest issue for LSG has been the poor form of Nicholas Pooran. The former West Indies batter has scored a mere 82 runs all season at a strike-rate of less than 100. With Josh Inglis soon available for selection, the left-hander could be dropped for good should his form not improve.
Bowlers: Digvesh Singh Rathi, Mohsin Khan, Mohammed Shami, Prince Yadav

Prince Yadav has had a breakout season in the IPL, taking 13 wickets at an economy rate of just 8.06. He has been partnered well by Mohsin Khan, who has nine scalps to his name, including a five-wicket haul.
The experienced Mohammed Shami, meanwhile, continues to lead the attack. He has seven wickets from eight matches.
LSG’s predicted playing XI vs MI in Match 47, IPL 2026:
Mitchell Marsh, Ayush Badoni, Rishabh Pant (C & WK), Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran, Mukul Choudhary, George Linde, Digvesh Singh Rathi, Mohsin Khan, Mohammed Shami, Prince Yadav
