The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will host the five-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Chennai Super Kings in Match 59 of the 2026 Indian Premier League at the Ekana Stadium, Lucknow.

The Super Giants sit at the bottlom of the table with just three wins in 11 matches. They are already out of the race for the playoffs, but they will be looking to win their remaining games to finish the season on a high note. They beat the defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, in a game shortened to 19 overs, to record their first win of the season at the Ekana Stadium. On the other hand, CSK will need to win this game to strengthen their playoffs hopes.

Here is the strongest predicted XI for LSG in Match 59:

Top order: Mitchell Marsh, Josh Inglis, Nicholas Pooran

The LSG will have three overseas pros in their top-order in this clash, and this gives them a chance to post a huge total in the powerplay overs. Mitchell Marsh has been the mainstay throughout the season, scoring 377 runs for them. He recently scored a sensational century against RCB.

Josh Inglis is coming after a blistering knock against CSK, scoring 85 runs in just 33 balls. Nicholas Pooran, however, has been the biggest disappointment for LSG this season with the bat.

Middle order: Rishabh Pant (c) (wk), Aiden Markram, Akshat Raghuwanshi, Himmat Singh, Shahbaz Ahmed

Captain Rishabh Pant, after few experiments with his batting position, is now batting in the middle-order for his side. He will come in at number 4. Just like his team’s form, Pant, too, is having a disastrous season with the bat, scoring just 251 runs with a strike rate of 138.67.

Aiden Markram is batting out of place, but gives the team good balance with his all-round abilities. Youngsters Himmat Singh and Akshat Raghuvanshi will be given yet another chance. Shahbaz Ahmed is another good all-round option to have in any T20 side.

Lower order: Mohammed Shami, Digvesh Singh Rathi, Prince Yadav

Mohammed Shami will lead the bowling attack with his vast experience and expertise with the new ball. Avesh Khan will come in as an impact sub. Prince Yadav has been a revelation for the Lucknow-based side, and has been their premier wicket taker so far in IPL 2026, picking up 16 wickets. His ability to deliver at any stage of the game has impressed everyone.

With each and every good outing in IPL 2026, he is getting close to receiving an India cap soon. Digvesh Singh Rathi will lead the spin department.
