As Klaasen started walking back to the pavilion, both players exchanged words and briefly approached each other before teammates intervened immediately to prevent the situation from escalating further. Neither cricketer appeared interested in extending the confrontation, but clips of the exchange spread rapidly across social media platforms, with fans closely analysing the incident and speculating about what may have been said between the two players.
Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad registered an important five-wicket victory over Chennai Super Kings on May 18 to officially qualify for the IPL 2026 playoffs. Chasing a target of 181, SRH produced a composed batting performance and completed the chase in 19 overs to strengthen their position in the top four.
Batting first, Chennai Super Kings posted 180/7 in their 20 overs after recovering from an inconsistent start. Dewald Brevis played a crucial innings of 44 runs from just 27 deliveries and helped maintain momentum during the middle overs. Useful lower-order contributions also helped CSK reach a competitive total on a batting-friendly surface.
For Hyderabad, captain Pat Cummins led impressively with the ball, finishing with figures of 3/28 in four overs. Young pacer Sakib Hussain also made a strong impact with figures of 2/34.
In reply, Ishan Kishan anchored the chase brilliantly with a composed 70 off 47 balls, guiding SRH home with six balls remaining despite a fighting effort from CSK bowlers led by Mukesh Choudhary.
