The Gujarat Titans host the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Match 42 of the 2026 Indian Premier League at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The Titans followed up two consecutive losses with a victory over the Chennai Super Kings at the Chepauk. They caught the five-time champions by the scruff of their necks early in the powerplay with Kagiso Rabada’s fiery spell. They chased down a total of 158 with ease, with Sai Sudharsan following up his century in Bengaluru with a brilliant 87. They are in fifth place in the table, with four wins and four losses in eight games, and will be looking to make a push for the playoffs.

The defending champions, the Royal Challengers, beat the Delhi Capitals comfortably by nine wickets in their last match. Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up three wickets apiece, leaving the Capitals reeling at 8/6 in the powerplay. They eventually bowled the capitals out for 75, which they chased down with ease in 6.3 overs. Virat Kohli became the first batter in IPL history to reach 9000 runs, as the defending champions notched up their sixth win of the season, sitting comfortably in second place.

The two teams met a week prior on April 24. The Titans got to a total of 205/3 in their 20 overs, with Sai Sudharsan scoring a magnificent century, his third in the IPL. RCB, though, made light work of the chase despite losing a cluster of wickets in the end. Virat Kohli scored a magnificent 44-ball 81 and was supported ably by Devdutt Padikkal, who scored a 27-ball 55. Krunal Pandya’s late unbeaten 12-ball 23 took the defending champions home with five wickets in hand.
