Sri Lankan pacer Eshan Malinga has become one of the breakout stars of IPL 2026, not only for his brilliant performances with the ball for Sunrisers Hyderabad but also for an unexpected off-field talent that has taken social media by storm. The 25-year-old recently went viral after a video surfaced online showing him singing the iconic Bollywood song ‘Mera Dil Bhi Kitna Pagal Hai’ from the 1991 film Saajan.
The clip, recorded during a team gathering, showed Malinga confidently performing the romantic classic while his SRH teammates, including Ishan Kishan and Praful Hinge, cheered him on along with the crowd. Fans across social media platforms were left surprised by his impressive singing ability and his comfort with Hindi music. Many users praised the pacer for displaying the same confidence off the field that he regularly shows with the ball during matches.

Malinga has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign this season after being picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Although he arrived from Sri Lanka’s domestic circuit as a promising but relatively untested player, he has quickly established himself as one of SRH’s most dependable bowlers.
The right-arm pacer has claimed 16 wickets this season and earned recognition as a dangerous reverse-swing specialist. His role became even more important when SRH captain Pat Cummins missed seven of the team’s 11 matches during the campaign.
Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans are set to face Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 12 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. GT currently sit third on the points table with 14 points from 11 matches and have won their last four games. SRH have also found strong momentum, winning four of their previous five matches, including an impressive victory against Punjab Kings. Another win could push Hyderabad to the top of the IPL 2026 standings.
With both teams peaking at the right stage of the tournament, the upcoming clash promises to be one of the most exciting contests of the season.
