Delhi Capitals (DC) take on Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Match 35 of the Indian Premier League 2026 at the iconic Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday, April 25. Both teams head into this clash with contrasting momentum this season.

DC have had a mixed run so far, struggling for consistency despite flashes of brilliance. Led by Axar Patel, the side has shown promise with the bat through players like KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs, while their bowling unit, featuring Kuldeep Yadav, has delivered in patches.

PBKS, on the other hand, have been in outstanding form, emerging as one of the most dominant teams this season. Under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer, the side has looked well-balanced, with consistent contributions from both batting and bowling departments. Their top order, including Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya, has been in fine touch, while the bowling attack led by Arshdeep Singh has delivered under pressure.

With the Arun Jaitley Stadium known for producing high-scoring encounters, DC will look to make the most of home conditions.

Here are 3 player battles for DC vs PBKS, Match 35 of IPL 2026:

3. KL Rahul vs Arshdeep Singh

In a crucial top-order battle, KL Rahul will face the left-arm swing of Arshdeep Singh in the powerplay. Rahul’s ability to anchor and accelerate makes him a key figure for DC, while Arshdeep’s knack for striking early with the new ball adds intrigue to this contest.

The two have faced each other four times in T20s, where Rahul has scored 42 runs off 33 balls at a strike rate of 127.27, while being dismissed twice.

2. Axar Patel vs Shreyas Iyer

A fascinating middle-order duel awaits as Axar Patel takes on Shreyas Iyer. Iyer is known for his dominance against spin, but Axar’s accuracy and subtle variations can pose a serious challenge. They have clashed six times in T20s, with Iyer scoring 79 runs off 52 balls at a strike rate of 151.92, while getting dismissed once. Axar, however, has maintained control with an economy of 9.11.

1. Lungi Ngidi vs Priyansh Arya

This is an exciting fresh contest as Lungi Ngidi goes up against the in-form Priyansh Arya. While they have not faced each other before, both players are in excellent rhythm this season.

Arya has been one of the standout performers with the bat in IPL 2026, showcasing aggressive stroke play. However, Ngidi’s ability to generate bounce along with his deadly inswingers could test the youngster. This battle could be a decisive one, especially if it unfolds early in the innings.
