The Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) rich vein of form continues as they secure their fourth consecutive win in the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) at the expense of the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Friday, May 8.
The KKR spinners once again set the trap for the opposition batters, which restricted DC to just 142 off their quota of 20 overs. Sunil Narine bowled his four overs at an economy rate of just 4.25, while Kartik Tyagi took two wickets and conceded just 25 runs. Pathum Nissanka’s half-century was the only score of note for the hosts.
The Knight Riders chased down the total with more than five overs to spare, thanks to the coming of age of Finn Allen in the IPL. The New Zealand international smashed a century off just 47 balls. The right-hander was stuck on 94 with KKR needing two to win, but hit a massive six off Mukesh Kumar to secure the victory and reach triple digits. He was partnered brilliantly by Australia’s Cameron Green, who scored 33 off 27 balls and also took the crucial wicket of Nitish Rana.
The DC vs KKR game saw a plethora of milestones accomplished by players from both sets of camps, something which has become extremely common in this season’s IPL. Finn Allen’s century obviously saw him create many new records for the Knight Riders.
