IPL 2025: SRH vs DC, Match 55: Stats Preview of player records and achieved milestones

After starting IPL 2025 with four wins in a row, Delhi Capitals have now lost four of their last six games to put their playoff hopes in serious danger. They will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in Match 55 in Hyderabad on May 5.

Sunrisers Hyderabad are practically out of playoffs contention. Their last game, against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad saw them register an emphatic loss. Meanwhile, DC’s last game was against KKR in Delhi. All of KKR’s batters got starts but did not convert it into a bigger score. Axar Patel and Vipraj Nigam kept the KKR batters under check but they still got past the 200-run mark. During the chase, DC lost early wickets, but skipper Axar joined his deputy Faf du Plessis to stitch an important partnership. It looked like DC were headed for victory until Sunil Narine dismissed them both to change the tide as the game swung in KKR’s favour, and despite Nigam giving some hope, DC fell short.

DC and SRH’s reverse fixture in Visakhapatnam was an eventful one. Mitchell Starc’s powerplay strikes had put SRH on the backfoot. Aniket Verma then took it upon himself to revive SRH, but Kuldeep Yadav struck in the middle overs to leave them tottering. Starc came back to complete his fifer and set DC an easy target. Faf du Plessis’ quick fifty alongside some blitz finishing from Kl Rahul and Tristan Stubbs gave DC an easy win.
