IPL 2025: Matheesha Pathirana set to miss CSK vs RCB game due to injury

IPL 2025: Matheesha Pathirana set to miss CSK vs RCB game due to injury

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are set to play their second match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL 2025 on Friday, March 28. While this game will be extremely important for both teams because of their hyped rivalry, especially after the league stage clash in the previous season, CSK will miss their star bowler, Matheesha Pathirana, in the upcoming game. Notably, the bowler is suffering from injury and hasn’t recovered yet, as informed by the team’s head coach Stephan Fleming ahead of the all-important match.

The high-octane game will take place at the iconic MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai, which is CSK’s fortress. It wouldn’t be easy for RCB to beat the team with the kind of spin attack they have. The hosts have a solid trio of Noor Ahmad, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ravichandran Ashwin, who bowled brilliantly in the previous game against arch-rivals Mumbai Indians (MI).

RCB have a good team in this season. They beat KKR quite comfortably in their own backyard, so they will enter the contest with a lot of confidence. However, they might not have a good spin attack like their opponent. The last time these two teams met in the previous season, RCB knocked the Chennai-based franchise out of the tournament.

Following the game, the RCB fans trolled the CSK fans. This is the main reason why the rivalry between both franchises has heated up. The Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side will be looking forward to taking their revenge against RCB in the upcoming game. Meanwhile, Rajat Patidar & Co will be entering the game with confidence to keep up to their winning start in the ongoing tournament.
