IPL 2024: Rajasthan’s CM Bhajanlal Sharma meets RR family; team gifts signed bat

Rajasthan’s Chief Minister, Bhanjanlal Sharma, recently met with the Rajasthan Royals (RR) team players and support staff. He congratulated them on their impressive unbeaten run in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season.

RR, currently leading the IPL 2024 points table with four wins from four matches, has been the talk of the town this season. Their dominant performances have not gone unnoticed, with the state’s top leadership taking a keen interest in their progress. On Tuesday, CM Bhanjanlal Sharma met the Royals’ team at his official residence in Jaipur. He was warmly received by the team’s CEO, Jake Lush McCrum, who presented the Chief Minister with a signed bat, team jersey, and a ball autographed by all the players.

“Today I made a courtesy visit to the players of Rajasthan Royals team at OTS residence and while encouraging them, sent my heartfelt best wishes for the upcoming matches,” CM Sharma posted on X (formerly known as Twitter).

The honourable Chief Minister was accompanied by the state’s Sports Minister, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Rajasthan Royals Vice President Rajeev Khanna, and head coach Kumar Sangakkara. The team’s captain, Sanju Samson, was also present during the meeting.

RR to face GT in their next match

This visit comes after Rajasthan’s Chief Minister, Bhajanlal Sharma, was invited to witness the IPL 2024 action at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, last month. He was presented with a Golden Ticket, granting him access to all the home matches of the Royals in the ‘Pink City’. The Rajasthan-based franchise has so far, lifted the trophy only once in 17 editions and was crowned the champions in the inaugural season in 2008 under late Shane Warne’s captaincy.

After that, they managed to come close to the title only once as they reached the finals of the 2022 edition but suffered a defeat against Gujarat Titans. RR who are currently at the pole position in the IPL points table with eight points and an impressive net run rate of +1.120. They will now face Gujarat Titans in their next clash at home on Wednesday, April 10.
