Shivam Dube 51(23) played a fantastic attacking innings and skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad 46(36) played the anchor’s role to these two which helped CSK to post a massive total. In response, the Titans managed to post only 143. They had a very poor outing with the bat. Speaking about the bowlers, Deepak Chahar (4-0-28-2) and Tushar Deshpande (4-0-21-2) bowled superbly and were the key, helping CSK to defend the target. Titans would like to take revenge for the previous encounter between these two held at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai earlier.

Narendra Modi Stadium Pitch Report:

Ahmedabad has been a very slow pitch compared to all other stadiums. In four matches so far, 200 has been scored only once, and that was when PBKS pulled off a freak chase against GT. There is no reason that this would change for this game. In fact, in a recent game here, Gujarat Titans themselves folded for a very paltry 89 and totals even above 170 so far seem like a rarity in a season overloaded with 250+ totals. The venue has five black soil pitches and six red soil pitches. The black soil pitches offer better bounce compared to the red soil pitches, which dry out soon, but in T20 that could hardly be the case. In recent matches, the batters have scored freely when batting first at the venue.

GT vs CSK Strategies and Match-ups:

Chasing seems to be the go-to option at Ahmedabad. Both the teams will keep an eye on this possibility, and with CSK’s bowling having got some confidence, GT’s collapse-prone batting will face a stern test, and that innings should be the most noteworthy phase of the match. The important matchups for this contest are Wriddhiman Saha vs Ravindra Jadeja, Shubman Gill vs Shardul Thakur, Ruturaj Gaikwad vs Mohit Sharma and Shivam Dube vs Rashid Khan.

GT vs CSK Player Battles to Watch Out For:

Shubman Gill vs Shardul Thakur:

GT skipper Gill has scored 36 runs in 31 balls at a strike rate of 116.12. Gill has been dismissed twice by Thakur and this battle in the powerplay is very important.

X-Factors for GT vs CSK:

Chennai Super Kings

He has already scored one hundred in the ongoing tournament and is the second leading run scorer in the tournament with 541 runs in 11 matches at an average of 60.11 and a healthy strike rate of 147.01.
