Punjab Kings (PBKS) will lock horns with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in match 58 of the 17th edition of the IPL 2024 on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.

The Kings have won four matches and lost seven matches so far in the tournament and are currently at the eighth place in the points table. Thus, Punjab Kings would like to come back to their winning momentum.

On the other hand, RCB have also won four matches and lost seven. They are currently in seventh place in the points table.

The Kings would like to take revenge for the previous encounter between these two held in M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru as they lost by four wickets. This will be an important game for both teams concerning the future of the tournament.

Speaking about the last game of the Punjab Kings, they had a poor outing with the bat and managed to score only 139 while chasing an under-par total of 168 against CSK. Prabhsimran Singh 30(23)  played well which kept Kings in the chase initially but they lost him and the wrong time and collapsed.

Harshal Patel (4-0-24-3) bowled well to help Punjab Kings restrict Super Kings to an under-par total. Rahul Chahar (4-0-23-3) also bowled superbly and gave excellent support to Harshal Patel as they restricted Super Kings to 167. Kings will be hoping their players to continue the good form and also have good support from their batters.

Meanwhile, in RCB’s last game, skipper Faf Du Plessis 64 (23) played magnificent innings while Virat Kohli 42 (27) also played superb knock and gave excellent support to du Plessis as RCB chased the small target within 14 overs. However, the team struggled for a while as they lost six wickets in quick time. In the end, Dinesh Karthik 21*(12) and Swapnil Singh 15*(9) held their nerves and took Challengers over the victory line.

Yash Dayal (4-0-21-2) bowled well in the previous game restricted Gujarat Titans to an under-par total. Mohammed Siraj (4-0-29-2) was also impressive and gave excellent support to Dayal.
