IPL 2024, Match 11: Lucknow Super Giants vs Punjab Kings Match Preview

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) square off against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on Saturday, March 30 in what will be the eleventh match of the ongoing Indian Premier League. Both teams are coming off a defeat in their previous game and will look to change things around in the coming fixture.

In their opening game of the edition, Lucknow failed to start the way they would have liked. They faced a defeat against Rajasthan Royals and fell short by 20 runs of the target. Skipper KL Rahul (58) and vice-captain Nicholas Pooran (64) did keep LSG in the hunt but the other batters failed to contribute to the team’s total. LSG will face PBKS in their second game of the tournament and will look to open their account in the points table.

On the other hand, the Punjab-based franchise won their opening game of the season against Delhi Capitals at home by four wickets. But after a close win, PBKS lost their second match to Royal Challengers Bengaluru by four wickets. The Shikhar Dhawan-led will put the previous defeat behind them and look to go winning ways and add more two points to the points table.

The surface at this venue is known to be flat initially, favoring the batters. The pitch tends to offer more assistance to slower bowlers, particularly spinners as the match progresses. Spinners have enjoyed a great deal of success. The team winning the toss will look to bowl first.

Lucknow Super Giants are likely to continue with the playing XI in the last game. Opening pair of KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock with Devdutt Padikkal, Marcus Stoinis, and Nicholas Pooran forming a strong middle order. Ayush Badoni who didn’t have a great game will look to change things around and give the finishing touch. Krunal Pandya and Ravi Bishnoi had decent games, while Naveen-ul-Haq had a good game and will look to do the same in the upcoming clash.

The Punjab Kings have a very strong opening pair. Dhawan and Johny Bairstow will look to give a solid start to their side. With experienced batters like Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran, and promising youngster Prabhsimran Singh, in the middle order, the visitors will look to put in a good score. PBKS has a very good bowling line-up that can seal the game on a given date.
