IPL 2024: Lucknow Super Giants’ 1st Innings Highlights against RCB in Match 15

Lucknow Super Giants travelled to Bengaluru to take on the Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Tuesday night. It was RCB that won the toss and chose to bowl first on a pitch that looked to be on the slower side.

Both sides made one change each for the game on Tuesday. Mohsin Khan who had injured himself against PBKS was replaced by Yash Thakur. West Indian pacer Alzarri Joseph was replaced by English left-arm pacer Reece Topley.

RCB vs LSG: 1st Innings Highlights

Powerplay 1: Overs 0.1 to 6 (Mandatory -54/1)

Quinton De Kock gave the visiting LSG side a great start as he went after the RCB bowlers. The South African was severe against Reece Topley and Mohammed Siraj’s bowling.

Lucknow Super Giants: 50 runs in 5.2 overs

KL Rahul joined his opening partner Quinton De Kock in taking the attack to the RCB bowlers. The LSG skipper swept Glenn Maxwell for a six to help him cross the 50-run mark.

First Strategic time-out: Lucknow Super Giants 62/1 (8 Overs)

Glenn Maxwell broke the first wicket stand when he had KL Rahul out for 20 caught by Mayank Dagar. Devdutt Padikkal came out and struggled to get going with the bat as the first time-out was called.

Half-century- Quinton De Kock (52 off 36 balls)

South African star Quinton De Kock got his 22nd IPL fifty with a four off Mayank Dagar. While the rest of the batters are struggling for time it seems De Kock is batting on a different surface. 

Lucknow Super Giants: 100 runs in 12 overs

Lucknow Super Giants found their stride after losing two quick wickets. The pair of Marcus Stoinis and Quinton Kock kept the scoreboard ticking. The 100 for LSG came when De Kock smashed Mayank Dagar for a straight six down the ground.

Fifty partnership – Quinton De Kock and Marcus Stoinis (56 runs from 5 overs)

LSG seemed to have lost their way with the bat after losing two wickets. Marcus Stoinis struck a huge six to bring up the fifty-run stand with Glenn Maxwell before falling for 24.

Second Strategic Timeout: Lucknow Super Giants: 141/3 in 16 overs

Despite losing Marcus Stoinis at a critical stage LSG didn’t buckle down under pressure. Quinton De Kock continued his run-scoring spree to keep his side in the hunt for a big score.

End of the innings: Lucknow Super Giants: 181/5 in 20 overs

Nicholas Pooran took the attack to the LSG bowlers and hit five sixes in two overs. The onslaught helped the Lucknow Super Giants post a decent 181 on the board.
