Match 60 of IPL 2024 between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Mumbai Indians will be the seventh and final match of this season’s edition to be played at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Of the six matches held at Eden Gardens during this season, KKR has triumphed in four, mirroring the number of victories by teams chasing.

As the tournament nears its conclusion, the competition for a place in the playoffs is becoming increasingly fierce. However, there’s been a notable contrast in the fortunes of the competing teams, with the visiting side lagging in ninth position with just eight points, while the home team sits comfortably at 16, despite having played one game less.

KKR, possessing the best net run rate out of the competing teams (+1.453), need a single victory in their remaining three games to go through to the playoffs, irrespective of where they land up between first position and fourth place. On the other hand, MI already got knocked out post the Sunrisers Hyderabad handed the Lucknow Super Giants a mauling 10-wicket loss on May 8, a match where quite a number of records were shattered during the run-chase.
