Match 60 of IPL 2024 between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Mumbai Indians will be the seventh and final match of this season’s edition to be played at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Of the six matches held at Eden Gardens during this season, KKR has triumphed in four, mirroring the number of victories by teams chasing.

As the tournament nears its conclusion, the competition for a place in the playoffs is becoming increasingly fierce. On the other hand, MI already got knocked out post the Sunrisers Hyderabad handed the Lucknow Super Giants a mauling 10-wicket loss on May 8, a match where quite a number of records were shattered during the run-chase.

What will happen if the game between KKR and MI washes out?

As per forecasts by AccuWeather, as the night metamorphoses into graver darkness. there seems to be a forecast of constant drizling and medium-level rainfall. The situation hasn’t improved yet as of now, and no real progress has been made, with there being constant showers since the afternoon, coupled with bouts of lightning. With the level of rainfall which has already precipitated, it’ll easily take an hour to an hour and a half to get the covers off the field. A couple of thunderstorms are also expected to transpire late in the night.

Following the stipulations of the IPL 2024 Playing Conditions, if rain delays the start of the match, overs will be deducted from 8:30 pm onwards, at a rate of 14.11 overs per hour, with the revised number of overs based on the remaining time available for play.
