Mumbai Indians (MI) will cross swords against Gujarat Titans (GT) in the 57th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 on Friday, May 12, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The hosts are entering the contest, having hammered Royal Challengers Bangalore by six wickets. Suryakumar Yadav was the chief architect of triumph as he blasted 83 runs off 35 deliveries.

Courtesy of the victory, Mumbai are third on the IPL 2023 points table with six wins in 11 games. The five-time IPL champions would look to ride on the winning momentum and defeat the Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat side in the forthcoming encounter.

Talking about the IPL, the veteran batter has featured in 238 matches and racked up 6070 runs at a strike rate of 129.73.

However, Rohit has been dismal with his outings of late. In his last five games in IPL 2023, the 36-year-old has managed to score just 12 runs. He would look to make amends and bring his A-game into play in the clash on Friday.

When it comes to Ishan Kishan, he is known for playing an aggressive brand of cricket and has provided crackling starts to Mumbai Indians. The wicketkeeper-batter has featured in 11 games in the ongoing season and plundered 335 runs at a strike rate of 142.55.

Middle Order: Suryakumar Yadav, Nehal Wadhera, Tim David

India has produced many match-winners in the T20 arena but there has been hardly anyone of the calibre of Suryakumar Yadav. He has obliterated bowling attacks with his 360-degree stroke play and has piled on runs for fun. The ace batter has shown his class in the 16th IPL edition and hammered 376 runs in 11 outings at a dazzling strike rate of 186.13.

Besides Suryakumar, Mumbai have the services of Nehal Wadhera and Tim David in the middle order. Nehal has been brilliant with the bat in the ongoing season and accumulated 183 runs in nine games at a strike rate of 147.58. He would look to carry on the good work for Rohit Sharma & Co. in the upcoming game.

Talking about Tim David, the 27-year-old has put up an exhibition of his power-hitting might and dismantled bowling attacks at will. He has displayed his prowess in the IPL arena time and time again and smashed 366 runs in a total of 20 matches at a stunning rate of 185.79.

Mumbai Indians left no stone unturned to sign a young budding Australian cricketer named Cameron Green at the IPL 2023 auction and spent a whopping sum of INR 18.5 crore. Green has repaid the faith of the franchise and set the 16th IPL edition ablaze with his superb performances.

Green has taken the attack to the opposition right from ball one and put the bowling attacks under the pump. He has made 11 appearances for the five-time IPL champions thus far and smashed 274 runs at a strike rate of 149.72, which includes two half-centuries.

Besides his batting might, Green has been a handy contributor with the ball and bagged six wickets in 11 matches. The team management would hope that the Australian all-rounder light up the forthcoming game with his exploits on the cricket field.

Talking about Behrendorff, the Australian pacer has rattled batters with his swing and his side with provided timely breakthroughs. Besides Jordan and Jason, Mumbai have Akash Madhwal in the mix.
