India played a commanding brand of cricket on the second day of the first Test against West Indies in Ahmedabad, as they took a significant lead. The home team added 327 runs for the loss of just three wickets, with KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, and Ravindra Jadeja all notching up centuries to put India in a strong position. The southpaw reached his sixth Test hundred, and his second in three matches. By the end of the day, he was unbeaten on 104. For the West Indies, it was a tough day in the field. Their spinners Chase, Warrican, and Pierre bowled long spells but went for runs, finishing with figures of 4 for 283 in 82 overs. Seales was the only one who looked threatening early, but his lone wicket did little to stop India’s dominance. At stumps, India’s lead read 286 and will look to extend it past 300 on Day 3.
