India clinched the five-match T20I series against New Zealand with a thumping 4-1 margin. It was a clinical performance from the hosts, just before the start of the T20 World Cup 2026.
The series was the last T20I assignment for both the teams ahead of the marquee event, and they left no stone unturned. While it was a breathtaking display of power hitting from the batters, there were some bowlers who were successful in picking up wickets in high-scoring affairs.
Here are the top 3 wicket-takers from the T20I series between India and New Zealand:
3. Mitchell Santner

Even though the New Zealand skipper was not at his absolute best, he managed to be one of the top three wicket-takers in the series. Santner shone in New Zealand’s sole victory in the series, taking three wickets for just 26 runs from his four overs.
Mitchell Santner finished as third-highest wicket-taker of the series, picking up five wickets in as many innings, albeit a high economy rate of 11.86. For the most part of the series, he was not able to complete his quota of four overs, majorly because of the presence of two lefties, Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma.
2. Jacob Duffy

The former No. 1 T20I bowler Jacob Duffy played all five matches in the series, claiming six wickets with an economy rate of 10.69.
His best bowling figures came during the first T20I, where he finished his quota of four overs, giving away only 27 runs, while picking up two wickets. What made his performance special was his economy rate as the spell came when the Men in Blue scored 238 runs in their 20 overs.
1. Arshdeep Singh

The left-arm pacer picked up eight wickets in four matches, albeit with a high economy of 10.50. He was consistent throughout the series, going wicketless just in the third T20I. The Punjab pacer concluded the series with a stunning five-wicket haul as India defended 271.
