After a smashing series against England which saw Yashasvi Jaiswal batter the English bowlers for 712 runs in nine innings across five Tests, all eyes were glued to the southpaw in terms of the pyrotechnics he had in store for the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League. However, the talented batter could only muster 121 runs in the first seven matches playing for the Rajasthan Royals.

The tide turned for Jaiswal in Match 38 of IPL 2024, where he smashed an unbeaten 104* off 60 deliveries to take his team gliding to their seventh victory in eight games played so far. After guiding his team to victory, Jaiswal spoke to the broadcasters. He thanked them for their well-wishes and stated that he was just looking to execute the basics adequately while relishing his stay out in the middle. He also remarked about not pondering too much on the difficulties faced by him, and remarked about focusing solely on those skills he was proficient in.
