‘I don’t know what it’s like in the commentary box’ – Sai Kishore retorts when asked about Rashid Khan’s performance in IPL 2025

Gujarat Titans (GT) spinner Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore responded sharply to commentator Nick Knight when asked about Rashid Khan’s bowling performance in the IPL 2025 after the match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The Afghanistan bowler is a key component of GT’s bowling attack but hasn’t been able to show his strength this season yet.

However, in the last match against KKR, he claimed two wickets in four overs and gave away just 25 runs in the middle overs, He was successful enough to create pressure on the KKR batters. Rashid dismissed Sunil Narine and Andre Russell, helping GT win the game.

Former England opener Nick Knight spoke to Kishore and asked him about Rashid, where the bowler gave a cheeky reply.

“What about Rashid Khan? Your spin twin. It hasn’t been the ideal tournament for him. But a couple of wickets (today) in crucial time, how’s it going for him?” asked Nick Knight.

“He’s one of the best T20 bowlers in the world. He’s getting his wicket-taking knack back. As a team, we don’t doubt his abilities. I don’t know what it’s like in the commentary box,” said Sai Kishore.

GT batted first after losing the toss and scored 198 runs in the first innings. Sudharsan and Shubman Gill played crucial innings, helping the team post such a mammoth total on the board, which also included Jos Buttler’s unbeaten 41 runs off 23 balls. The KKR bowlers failed to create pressure on the visiting team, which is why they lost only three wickets.

When the Kolkata-based franchise came to bat, they lost Rahmanullah Gurbaz in the first over.  Later, Sunil Narine and Ajinkya Rahane formed a partnership that didn’t last long. Despite captain Rahane’s half-century, KKR fell short by 39 runs.

Moreover, Prasidh Krishna and Rashid Khan took two wickets each, and all the other bowlers contributed with one wicket each. The overall contribution from the team is the main reason why GT won the match and are in the top position of the points table.
