Highest Partnerships in IPL 2024

Indian Premier League 2024 season has become synonymous with the amazing batting and tall scores fans have seen this season. Most games have produced scores over 200 with the highest team total being broken twice this year. 

The role of partnerships between batters has been a key aspect during the IPL 2024 season. For any team to put up a huge score on the board there has been a need for a huge partnership between the batters.

In the game between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Titans on Saturday, the pair of Faf Du Plessis and Virat Kohli added 92 runs in just under 5 overs to dominate the Titans bowlers totally. 

Here are the top 5 partnerships of the IPL 2024 season:

5. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag – 134 runs vs SRH

Chasing 202 to win, Bhuvneshwar Kumar had reduced the visitors to 1 for 2 in the first over. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag then combined to add 134 runs for the 3rd wicket to bring the Royals back into the game. The stand was broken when Yashasvi Jaiswal was bowled by Natarajan for 67.

4. KL Rahul and Quinton De Kock -134 runs vs CSK

Before the heroics by Marcus Stoinis to steal a huge win at the Chepauk Stadium, the LSG had beaten the Chennai side at home. Quinton De Kock and KL Rahul tore the Chennai Super Kings bowlers to all parts of the ground as they put on 134 runs from 15 overs. The massive opening stand was enough as the Super Giants claimed an easy win in front of their home crowd.

3. Phil Salt and Sunil Narine – 138 vs PBKS

In what is now regarded as the greatest T20 game, Kolkata Knight Riders openers Phil Salt and Sunil Narine took the Punjab bowlers to the cleaners. The pair added 138 runs for the opening wicket to give their team a flying start. That wasn’t enough as Punjab Kings pulled off an amazing run chase to create a new world record thanks to a century by Jonny Bairstow and fifty by Shashank Singh.

2. Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson – 148 runs vs RCB

Virat Kohli scored the 8th century in the IPL to lead the RCB side to a respectable 183 on the board. Reece Topley gave the visitors a great start when he dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal for a duck. From there Jos Buttler and skipper Sanju Samson added 148 runs from just 86 balls to help the Royals win the game by 7 wickets with Buttler scoring a famous century.

Half-centuries by Sai Sudharsan and Shahrukh Khan helped the Gujarat Titans reach 200 runs on the board. RCB skipper Faf Du Plessis was out for 24 after adding 40 for the first wicket with Virat Kohli. From there it was the Will Jacks show as the English batter scored his first IPL century to stay not out on 100 off 41 balls with 5 fours and 10 sixes. Virat Kohli scored 70 not out off 44 balls with six fours and 3 sixes in his knock.
