Harry Brook attains career-best fourth spot in T20I batting rankings

England captain Harry Brook has risen five places in the ICC men’s T20I batting rankings to reach a career-best fourth position. The advance is built on an outstanding home series against Sri Lanka, where Brook posted 170 runs across three matches and struck an unbeaten century in the opening game.

Brook now sits behind India’s Ishan Kishan, who holds the top position in the T20I batting charts. Abhishek Sharma and Sahibzada Farhan occupy second and third respectively. Brook’s England team-mate Jos Buttler also gained ground during the series, registering two half-centuries to move up two places to fifth in the rankings.

The updated standings raise the prospect of Brook becoming the only active batter ranked inside the top ten across Tests, ODIs and T20Is at the same time. His Test position is already number one, and his T20I ranking is now at a personal best, leaving only the ODI chart requiring further improvement before that distinction could be achieved.

Afghanistan allrounder Rashid Khan surrendered the top position in the ICC T20I bowling rankings after a difficult outing in the third T20I against India, where he returned figures of one for 43. England seamer Jamie Overton was among the most prominent movers in the bowling rankings, advancing 47 places to reach sixth. In the ODI allrounder rankings, Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza moved ahead of Mehidy Hasan Miraz to take second place. He now trails only Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai in those ratings.
