Harmanpreet Kaur scored an unbeaten 91 off 41 balls in the third and final T20I between India Women and Zimbabwe Women at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, Raipur on October 20, 2026. At the innings break, she broke down in tears during an on-air interview, visibly wiping tears with her sleeve before handing the microphone back and walking away from the cameras.

WV Raman, former head coach of the Indian women’s team and commentator, was speaking with Harmanpreet when she became emotional. Harmanpreet did not explicitly explain the reason for her reaction during the interview.

Harmanpreet came in at number four and took time to settle, scoring just one boundary off her first 12 deliveries before accelerating sharply. Her innings of 91 not out included 10 fours and 5 sixes. Shafali Verma also contributed a fifty in the same innings, helping India post 216/7 in their 20 overs.

India won the match by 92 runs, completing a 3-0 series whitewash over Zimbabwe. The series also marked Smriti Mandhana’s first assignment as T20I captain for India.

The innings carried added significance given Harmanpreet’s recent form. This was her first half-century in 10 matches and her first fifty in 2026. She had found runs difficult to come by during the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026 and the Asian Games 2026, held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, even though India won both tournaments. She also credited her support staff for helping her return to form.

“It feels great. Just wanted to enjoy myself, and great that I got some time in the middle and really enjoyed myself on the field,” said Harmanpreet.

“Batting is key for me, and I just want to keep working on it and repeating those processes in the nets. I really want to give credit to my batting coach (Himanshu Chawla), Manju bhaiya (Munish Bali), who have been working very hard with me and understand the kind of batting I can do,” she added.
